Within the framework of the Tbilisi City Hall program "Creative Tbilisi", on November 13, at 19:00, will open the exhibition "Georgian Detail", at the Barnavelli Gallery.
Along with the research part, the project also envisages an exhibition of Georgian traditional clothes and accessories, which are handmade in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Part of the exhibited original pieces are from the private collection of the family of Irakli Ochiauri and other part, from the private collection of gallery founder and author of the project Zeinab Barnovi.
Part of the Khevsurian costume was created by Natela Baliauri (famous artist and ethnographer).
Alongside the originals of Khevsurian clothes, headscarves and Georgian 'Chikhtikops', Barnavelli Gallery will present pillows, lamps, bags and a photo exhibition created using motifs of details of these Georgian traditional works of art in modern forms.
In parallel with the exposition, invited art critic Lela Ochiauri will give a lecture on Khevsurian clothes, fabric making technologies, traditions and their use today.
Attendance is free.
The exhibition will last until November 22.
