Anna Moore is aNew York-based artist whose academic credentials include a BA from Columbia University (1992), an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1996), and an AM from the University of Chicago (2012). Her multidisciplinary practice encompasses photography, multimedia, painting, and works on paper. Moore’s recent projects investigate the meanings and experiences of trauma's heartbreak. Through the superimposition of photographs of metal gears and X-rays of the human body, she emphasizes how trauma's impact erodes a sense of self, damages vital organs, and inhibits the ability to connect with others. Moore’s work has been featured in juried exhibitions across the United States and abroad, including those curated by Samantha Friedman, Curator of Drawings and Prints at The Museum of Modern Art, New York. Her work has appeared in Novum Artis, Observica Magazine, and Artistonish Arts Magazine.
