Burçe Karaca is a Turkish composer and performer whose artistic work engages with the dialogue between tradition and contemporary musical language. She  began her formal music education studying flute at Bilkent University’s Faculty of Music and Performing Arts during her high school years. She later graduated with honors from Başkent University State Conservatory, completing double majors in Music Theory and Piano. Karaca has been active as both a composer and pianist in various concerts and festivals. In June 2024, her orchestral work Kybele Suite received its world premiere at  the Mostly Modern Festival in New York. Her solo piano work Halmar Sonata (three movements) was performed at the Slovenia Contemporary Music Festival. Her arrangement of the Turkish folk song Kızılcıklar Oldu was performed by the University of North Florida School of Music Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Erin Bodnar. Her compositional output spans solo, chamber, choral, and orchestral genres. Notable works include Kamkara Sonata for piano and violoncello (three movements), Blue Moon Tales for mixed a cappella choir, and Boz for piano and string orchestra. Her music frequently explores the integration of Anatolian musical elements with contemporary compositional techniques, constructing layered textures and expressive harmonic landscapes. Through her artistic practice, Karaca investigates themes of cultural memory, transformation, and sonic identity. Her works aim to create a dialogue between inherited musical traditions and present-day aesthetic concerns. Karaca is currently pursuing a second bachelor’s degree in Composition at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory, where she studies under Prof. Dr. Onur Özmen.
