Caroline Perkins/ Abandoned

Caroline Perkins is a British abstract painter based in Hampshire whose practice explores geological and coastal time, residue, and emotional interiority—themes embedded in the language of natural phenomena rather than stated directly. Working across large-scale paintings and works on paper, her work balances gestural energy with quieter, atmospheric surfaces developed through intuitive, process-led mark making.

Perkins completed her MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art, supported by a QEST Scholarship and Colarts Bursary. Her recent solo exhibition Undercurrent (2026) marked a significant evolution in her abstract language, distilling years of performative and mark-making practice into a more resolved visual vocabulary. She has exhibited in group exhibitions across the South of England. Alongside her studio practice, Perkins is founder and lead artist of Unity Art Studio, an artist-led studio and gallery space supporting contemporary artists and facilitating creative dialogue within the local community.
