Coleen Duff/ Silenced

Coleen Duff is a socially engaged interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores the intersections of social justice, ecology, collective memory and participation. Working across installation, performance, photography, film and collaborative practice, she develops research-led projects that create living public archives – collaborative artworks that preserve overlooked voices, lived experience and shared knowledge through participation, dialogue and public engagement.

Her work examines power, protest, censorship and the relationships between human and more-than-human communities, creating spaces where audiences are invited to reflect rather than receive fixed conclusions. Through collaboration, Duff explores how art can make visible stories that risk being forgotten, overlooked or deliberately suppressed.

Recent projects include No Message Protest (2023–), a collaborative public artwork with FORETASTE Collective exploring censorship and the changing right to protest through silent public actions; The Unheard I & II, examining the marginalisation of those without economic or political power; We are the Silenced I & II, responding to the suppression of public expression surrounding the genocide in Gaza; and Listen to the Weeds (2026), a quiet activism project reimagining spontaneous plant life as symbols of resilience, resistance and ecological knowledge. Her current project, CELL: A Public Archive of Dissent, brings together these concerns through a collaborative installation exploring protest, punishment and democracy.
