Dana Wang is a Chinese filmmaker, photographer, and cinematographer based in London, currently working primarily in the camera department on film sets. After moving to London in October 2024, she has since pursued a freelance career across feature films, documentaries, and experimental images.
Her cross-cultural journey between China and the UK has shaped a distinctive visual language—one that exists between narrative structure and spontaneous observation. Trained in filmmaking yet deeply rooted in photography, Dana moves fluidly between controlled and intuitive modes of image-making, always seeking the delicate balance between what is revealed and what remains hidden.

For her, the act of creating images is an exploration of light and shadow—not only in a visual sense but as a metaphor for perception, memory, and truth. Whether through the lens of a camera or in the stillness of a photograph, she treats every frame as a space where visibility and obscurity converse. To her, image-making is not merely documentation but an act of presence and responsibility—to witness, to reveal, and to preserve perspectives that might otherwise remain unseen.
All perspectives matter, whether expressed in experimental, poetic, or authentic forms. Bringing a visual perception to society is not simply a personal fulfillment but a conscious act of choosing what deserves to be illuminated.
