E. Gabriel Edvy/ Abandoned

E. Gabriel Edvy is a London-based multi-media artist whose work focuses on the materialisation of the ephemeral and metaphysical. Utilising a multidisciplinary approach which combines the elements of science, sound, photography, film, chemistry, analog/digital methods, and physical art, her process is methodical whilst embracing unpredictability, and hovers in the tension between control and chance.

E. Gabriel Edvy’s series “The Abandonments” focuses on derelict man-made structures that have outlived their usefulness and been left to decay, the remains existing in a liminal state of memory serving as a reminder of the impermanence of all things.

“God’s Waiting Room” sits within “The Abandonments” series and is a collection of images of an abandoned English care home, whose title and theme play with the ideas of religion, humanity, loss, and time.
