Eleanor Thorley is an artist and teacher based in Bristol, UK. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts alongside her teaching degree in Sydney, Australia. She began her focus on the female form as a way of reclaiming her body as her own and exploring women's empowerment. Her work often depicts women in poses that society would deem 'unflattering', portraying rolls, stretch marks and visible veins. These artworks often have themes of spirituality, with a series of paintings named after Goddesses and mythological figures. Thorley predominantly works with oil paint, but is exploring a range of mediums.
