Her process for creating imagery is rooted in prayer and meditation. For this image, she lay in a star shape on the ocean, her ears dipping below its radiant surface. Beneath the water, she could hear the hum of a boat’s engine, a reminder of the pollution threatening marine life. With her eyes closed, she took deep, intentional breaths, wishing for a world free of pollution, filled only with light and love.
When she opened her eyes, it felt like a cosmic sign. Swans floated toward her, their expressions almost playful, as if acknowledging her wish. They followed her to the shoreline, where she captured the image. It wasn’t until she developed the photograph that she truly saw it—its composition and near-staged appearance were a surprise. She had no memory of taking the shot; the image was entirely candid.
Since that moment, the swans have remained in her mind, reinforcing her commitment to spreading a message of peace and environmental protection. Later this year, she will embark on a solo cycling journey from the UK to Australia in protest against pollution, with proceeds from her print sales supporting the cause.
