Chong is an interdisciplinary climate artist whose practice centres on ecological awareness, community engagement, and the light-based art. Fourth-generation Chinese Canadian and honours graduate of Emily Carr, Garrett works with lens-based imagery, participatory processes, and projection to invite public dialogue about climate change and our relationship with local ecosystems. Grounded in environmental stewardship and reciprocity with nature, his work highlights the interdependence between human communities and the living world.
His recent installation Eroded Origins: Speak For Me! has been presented across Western Canada and received critical media recognition for its immersive approach to climate education, public advocacy, and sensory storytelling.
