Since moving to the North East of England in 2014, Heather has built a vibrant creative practice rooted in her passion for lino printmaking, colour, and storytelling. Her journey into printmaking began as a deeply personal one: what started as a therapeutic exploration quickly became a life-changing passion. By 2022, she made the bold decision to leave behind a career in teaching and commit fully to life as a self-employed artist. Heather Moore has been a practising artist since 2018, and her love of colour, nature, and nostalgia has found a growing audience.
In 2026, while experiencing a period of deep transformation in her personal life, she expanded her practise into other mediums such as paint and mixed media, venturing to work on larger-scale pieces. Working from her home studio, Heather creates vibrant artworks inspired by the landscapes she explores, the memories she holds dear, and the quiet wonders of the everyday. Her work is often described as joyful, imaginative, and deeply atmospheric - blending observed detail with dreamy reinterpretations to evoke a sense of warmth, familiarity, and possibility. Whether it’s a windswept walk along the Northumberland coastline or a treasured family trip through pine forests and shimmering lakes, her prints capture fleeting moments and turn them into lasting impressions. Colour plays a central role in Heather’s work. She is fascinated by how different palettes can alter our emotional state, spark memory, and invite reflection. This sensitivity to colour allows her to move fluidly between reality and imagination, layering mood into every composition. Her process is both intuitive and structured, with each print built up using the linocut reduction method - a time-intensive technique where the same lino block is carved away between each layer of colour. As a result, every edition is limited and truly unrepeatable, giving collectors a lasting piece of her creative journey. Heather’s prints are created slowly and intentionally, with an emphasis on capturing the essence of a moment. She begins with sketchbooks full of quick drawings, painted textures, and colour studies gathered from her surroundings and travels. These observations are distilled into designs that play with rhythm, line, and layers - often weaving together bold shapes with intricate marks that reflect the textures of nature and memory. Her recent collections have explored themes close to her heart, such as the shifting tides and skies of the North East coastline, the botanical beauty of blossoming gardens, and the quiet wonder of the woods. Across all her work, her aim is the same: to create art that lifts your mood, brings beauty to your space, and offers you a place to pause, reminisce, and dream. Today, Heather continues to grow her creative practice through limited edition prints, commissions, one-to-one workshops, and her curated lifestyle magazine, The Curated Nest. Her work resonates with art lovers who seek meaningful, handcrafted pieces that reflect a sense of joy, colour, and connection to the natural world.
