Helen Grundy/ Spring Issue

Helen is a contemporary fine artist, who also works with homeless men and women in her home city of Birmingham, UK. She is an object maker and collage artist and exhibits both nationally and internationally. Currently, she is being funded by The Arts Council to develop her practice.

“I identify as working class. I work with found object and collage as I want my practice to be environmentally sustainable. I think of my works as souvenirs from a world that I have created and I often use humor and surreal imagery to explore difficult subjects such as climate change and the relationship between humans and animals.”

Helen was selected for CHEAP festival last year and one of her collages made into a billboard. She is currently showing her work at New Art Gallery Walsall and have had a piece of work acquired for their permanent collection.
