Helge Jørgensen/ Music
Helge Jørgensen received his first camera, a Kodak Instamatic 50, from his father in 1966. His father's only piece of advice was: "remember to get close" – a principle he has tried to follow ever since. Was an active photographer until the early 1980s, when rising silver prices made the hobby too costly, and his interest turned toward writing instead.
Trained as a journalist
Worked as a reporter/journalist for more than 15 years
Builds and designs websites as a side occupation – launched his first website in the late 1990s
In recent years he has consistently returned to his original approach: exclusively black and white. This stems from many hours spent in the darkroom, calibrating exposure, development, and fixing times. Today he works digitally with an iPhone 16 Pro and a Ricoh GRD II (previously a Fujifilm X100T and iPhone 11 Pro). His photographic focus is on street life and people, moments often captured over long periods of time.
