Jan Wurm is an artist, educator, and curator committed to fostering broader platforms for dialogue and exchange within contemporary art. Her experiences in both California and Europe have shaped her sensitivity to social structures, cultural patterns, and the conventions that influence everyday life.

Based between Berkeley and Los Angeles, Wurm moves fluidly between drawing and painting. Her artistic practice is rooted in an ongoing dialogue between the familiar and the unknown, using everyday experiences as a starting point for examining the complexities of contemporary culture and human relationships.

Through paintings, drawings, and artist's books, Wurm observes the details and routines of daily life, transforming them into thoughtful visual reflections on the social behaviors, connections, and cultural structures that shape our world. Her distinctive graphic language has been presented in more than one hundred exhibitions across California, New York, Canada, England, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, and Italy.
