‘’In my practice, I find it cathartic to use photography as a way of expressing abstract emotions or concepts. This often leads me to create work that steers away from clear-cut narratives and morals. I have always been more interested in conceptual photography and art in general. One major inspiration of mine is that of Bernard Tschumi’s 1977 series “Advertisements for Architecture,” which uses text and images in a way that blends abstract concepts like eroticism and desire with the tangible, everyday reality of physical buildings and cities. Finding art like this pulled at strings in me I had never been able to articulate, so I turned to photography to help me express them visually. In the past, I have used photography to investigate my feelings of nostalgia towards my hometown as well as ties I have with specific people in my life, whether that be a mutual love of the same genre of music or a reflection on a shared childhood.’’
