Am I man enough?
My practice is concept and material-focused; I am using archetypal imagery of objects and constructs of gender prejudice.
I was born in Poland; however, I did not really grow up there. My life of becoming a man has been a constant repetition of moving from one country to a new country, growing up in different surroundings, and with different people.
In 2022, I attended a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Alchimia, Contemporary Jewellery School in Florence, Italy. Following that, I pursued higher education and chose to do a Master of Fine Arts in Contemporary Jewellery and Cultural Identity at Alchimia.
Before that, I was practicing classic jeweller's benchwork and leatherworking, teaching myself a range of techniques necessary to evolve into a richer artistic practice.
The subject that increasingly captured my interest was gender performativity, particularly masculinity, and how it is constructed and sustained. I am exploring it’s archetypical attributes through recognisable forms and material experimentation.
Are you man enough?
