‘’My Dreamscape series is an invitation into a world that exists somewhere between waking and dreaming, where landscapes are born from memory, sensation, and imagination. The boundaries of place become uncertain: what appears to be earth or sky may belong to an inner geography instead. Beauty can feel strangely fragile; a seductive landscape may conceal something darker beneath its surface. Each painting inhabits this uncertain territory, asking where the imagined ends and another kind of reality begins. The works are built through an intuitive dialogue with materials. Natural earths become part of the grounds for pigments, allowing the physical substance of the land to enter the painting. Colour and texture carry their own language, sometimes revealing, sometimes concealing, creating spaces that seem to shift as we look at them. In this suspended world, perception is never fixed, and memory becomes something fluid, a landscape continually transforming in the mind. The presence of earth in Dreamscape led me towards a more tangible encounter with the elemental in my later project, Rare Metals. It is currently on display at the Venice Biennale, where this continuing exploration of earth, matter and human imagination takes another direction.’’
