Nicholas Walster/ Minimalism

Nicholas Walster is a Yorkshire-born artist whose practice is shaped by photography, travel, spirituality, and personal transformation. After studying Photographic Arts under Victor Burgin and John Goto at the University of Westminster, he worked extensively at sea before relocating to New York City to focus on his creative work. Experiences of fatherhood, introspection, and a near-death experience led to a renewed artistic focus, informing bodies of work including Inner-Light and Personal Panoramas. Returning to Yorkshire in 2017, after over thirty years in the US, his work continues to explore identity, perception, and the relationship between inner and external worlds.
