Nicholas Walster/ B&W Photography

Born and raised in Yorkshire, England, graduated from the University of Westminster with a BA in Photographic Arts under the tutelage of Victor Burgin and John Goto. Worked as a photographer with a Greek shipping line - travelling throughout the Caribbean, Mexico, the West Coast and Alaska. Left life at sea after three years and moved to New York City to concentrate on his own work. Became an acupuncturist in 1996, and an Interfaith Minister in 2001.

He has been exhibiting internationally for over 40 years and is the recipient of numerous awards including the Gold Medal - Fotografia Academica, Czechoslavakia and First Prize in The British Airways Travel Photographer of the Year.

Numerous international publications include The British Journal of Photography Annual, and Magazine, Tikkun Magazine, The Complete Encyclopaedia of Photography, The New York Times, Newsday and Chronogram Magazine.

He moved back to Yorkshire in 2017 with his family in order to gift his two daughters the opportunity to experience a different culture and to reacquaint himself with his own roots.
