Rachael is known for her bold ideas and instinctive approach to making. Her practice combines conceptual depth with playful invention, creating works that are both visually engaging and intellectually curious. A graduate of Central Saint Martins, Rachael spent over 30 years working across fashion, textiles, and commercial design, collaborating with both high-end and high-street brands. She later founded the wallpaper and interiors company Carmine Lake, where her passion for colour, pattern, surface, and innovation continued to evolve. Her discovery of sculpture provided a natural progression, bringing together decades of experience in design, materiality, craftsmanship, and visual communication. Working across sculpture, drawing, painting, mixed media, and installation, she creates works that connect intuitive making with conceptual enquiry. Rachael has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition on three occasions and has been shortlisted twice. She is the recipient of a sculpture award and continues to exhibit her work nationally and internationally.
