Sue is a multidisciplinary artist working mainly in textile inspired art. She is a studio holder at Exchange Works, part ofYorkshire Artspace in Sheffield. Sue studied art after leaving school but had to take on paid work. After being made redundant in 2011, Sue became self employed, setting up an etsy shop to sell hand made craft items. This rekindled her love of art and after attending a weekly art group, Sue was accepted at The Sheffield College to study for a Diploma in Art and Design. After this, Sue went on to graduate from Sheffield Hallam University in 2017 with a BA Honours degree in Creative Art Practice.
Since then, Sue has concentrated on developing her practice, taking part in many group exhibitions. Sue attends life drawing classes and uses these as inspiration for her current work in textiles. Sue’s art is inspired by social, economic and political events but her work often features nudes. Sue is a member of Prism Textile Group and exhibits with them.
