Xixi Xu/ Abandoned

Xixi Xu is a visual artist working across mixed media painting and printmaking. She graduated from the Royal College of Art in London. Her practice explores memory, emotional distance, identity, and the traces left behind through layered surfaces and fragmented imagery. Combining painting, printmaking, and mixed materials, she creates works that exist between presence and absence, intimacy and isolation. Influenced by personal experiences, psychological spaces, and contemporary visual culture, her work reflects on themes of abandonment, transformation, and emotional residue. Texture, repetition, and material layering play an important role in her process, allowing images to emerge and dissolve simultaneously.

For “Abandoned”, Xixi Xu presents works that explore silence, loss, and the emotional tension between disappearance and persistence. Rather than focusing solely on physical ruins, the works examine abandonment as a psychological and emotional condition connected to memory, fragility, and human experience.
