Yucen is an artist and researcher working with installation, moving image, and system-based practices. Their work is situated within the field of Creative R&D (Creative Research and Development) and focuses on the relationships between digital assets, protocolized systems, and mechanisms of life support. Through research-driven artistic practice, Yucen examines how contemporary technological systems reorganize survival as a managed, executable process. Their work draws upon references from medical technologies, computational infrastructures, and algorithmic governance, investigating how life is increasingly rendered as a condition to be monitored, evaluated, and maintained within institutional systems. Yucen currently works and lives in London, UK, and is studying at the University of the Arts London (UAL). Yucen had his solo exhibition in Shifang Gallery 2025 and will participates Chicago Expo 2026 and KunstRai Art Fair 2026.

The artist openly presents his confrontation with medical anxiety through reimagined Western medical equipment and traditional Chinese medicinal materials. Over 1,000 doses of herbal prescription residues that once entered his own body have solidified into a base with a geological texture. The metallic scent of clinical settings constantly evokes the traumatic experience of being under medical gaze. This work is both a gentle resistance to the excessive medicalization of the male body and an archaeological exploration of bodily memory, rooted in the artist's own experiences in his work and medical encounters.
