Charlotte’s practice evolves alongside the challenges she encounters in life, with her ideas often rooted in the thoughts that dominate her current state of mind. While her concepts shift, they remain connected by a consistent drive for expression—born from a period in which she felt trapped in an oppressive environment. Her work explores themes of gender identity, queer expression, femininity, and repressed emotions.

Working across disciplines, Charlotte places a strong emphasis on printmaking, particularly lino printing and etching. She is drawn to the possibilities and limitations of these processes, finding motivation in their challenges and embracing them as something to overcome—a reflection of her competitive nature. Her meticulous attention to detail produces an array of marks and imagery that invite close, intimate engagement.

A recurring quality in Charlotte’s work is an unsettling undertone. Though often unintentional, this duality mirrors her own complexity: a fundamentally positive person who also acknowledges the shadows within. She hopes her art prompts curiosity, encouraging viewers to pause, reflect, and wonder.
