JLegay, an extraordinary digital artist known for her vibrant and imaginative works as well as creating artwork primarily using negative space, first opened her eyes to the world in Austin, Texas. Spending her formative years amidst the creative vibrancy of Austin and later the scenic landscapes of Sacramento, California, J.Legay’s childhood was interwoven with art from the very beginning. As a toddler, she boldly adorned her parent's walls and tabletops with her first artistic explorations, foreshadowing a lifelong passion. Her inclination towards art was a hereditary gift, inherited from her father, Andrew Lawson, a remarkable portrait pastel artist. Supported generously by her family, J.Legay's parents (Clinton and Ina) and her husband, Joseph, ensured she had the tools and encouragement needed to pursue her dreams.
J.Legay's educational journey led her to graduate with a Bachelor of Art degree in art, specializing in graphic design, a foundation that profoundly influences her current digital masterpieces. Post-graduation, she harbored aspirations of studying at Oxford to become a Medical Illustrator; however, the allure of financial stability led her to a secure role within a government position, a journey that extended over 32 enriching years. Only upon her retirement did she return to her artistic roots, ready to surrender to the irresistible call of her creative endeavors.
