Lee Oakley/ Book Edition

Lee Oakley is a multi-media artist currently completing their Master’s in Fine Art at York St John University. Oakley’s work examines chronic illness and disability, responding to the public gaze and societal scrutiny. More recently, Oakley’s work has responded to the political climate that defines the quality of life for chronically ill and disabled bodies. For their Undergraduate Degree Show at York St John University, Oakley’s work ‘This is heavy and I heard you had space’ (2024) received an Axis Web Practice Award for its reference and relevance to the patriarchal violence that is happening worldwide.
