Maea Trevett White/ Book Edition

Maea Trevett White is a visual artist who works with photography and sculpture, currently residing just outside of Bath. She gained a BA (Hons) in Photography from Arts University Bournemouth. Her work explores the theme of the home and perception through construction and deconstruction. Her work has been shown in OXO Tower in London and local galleries in Bristol.

She is influenced by the Bauhaus theory and the aesthetics of the 1960s minimalist movement. Using simple forms to focus on colour and texture to invite the viewer into new ways of thinking about the material used within the work.

She is also influenced by Marcel Duchamp’s Readymades, where commercial material meets a fine art space. Where an item can be reproduced infinitely, yet there is still an aura around the item when it is isolated in a gallery space.
