Molly Casares is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher living and working in Bristol. She is influenced by the disturbing and bizarre symbolism of the surrealists, the brightness and flatness of pop art, and the painterly abstraction of figurative expressionists. Molly began her practice at sixteen and continued it alongside studying for an integrated Master’s in Liberal Arts at the University of Bristol (grad. 2023). Within her degree Molly specialised in art history and theology as well as taking an interest in poststructuralist philosophy, ontology, and Cyberfeminism. Her studies have greatly influenced her artwork which draws on her knowledge of art history, philosophy and literature.

Although working predominantly as a painter, Molly also creates bold sculptural works and installations, all of which grapple with the relation between self and other, the conflation of internal and external worlds. She is a keen poet and writer and is currently applying for a PhD in art history and philosophy.
