Neil Adams’s background in engineering and perspective as an educator, writer, and performing musician, informs work that seeks new ways of looking at familiar subjects, by combining representational painting with deconstructed styles such as cubism, or juxtaposing nature and man-made artifacts. In the belief that seriousness does not imply solemnly, a sense of humor pervades the work, acknowledging and accepting the self-referential nature of art.
