Nia Addicott is a Welsh mixed media artist working in oil paint, printmaking, textiles, drawing and ceramics. A key theme running through her work is the use of self-portraiture using herself as a vessel to convey themes of women’s rights and personal experience aimed to resonate with the viewer, provoking thought and discussion. Recently her oil painting ‘Contented’ was shown as part of the Royal Academy of Arts Young Artist’s Summer Show 2024. In addition, she exhibited work in the Urdd Art tent in North Wales as part of being shortlisted for the Eisteddfod yr Urdd Maldwyn Main Artist Scholarship and placed third. Her print ‘Inheritance’ was exhibited at the Mission Gallery Swansea as part of Mini Print Wales it then travelled to North Wales and was then exhibited at the Royal Cambrian Academy. For the open call by Haus a Rest her ‘Misogyny Prevention Manifesto’ was selected for issue 52 and was promoted on their social media then published as one of five chosen works on their website. In 2023 Nia exhibited 2 works at the 2023 9to90 Creative Community Annual Exhibition at Galerie Simpson, Swansea. Currently in her first year of a Fine Art BA at UAL Central Saint Martins, living and working in London.
