Olabamiji Yemi Tubi, known as O Yemi Tubi or MOYAT, was born in 1955 in Ibadan, Nigeria. He earned a BFA in Graphic Design from Valdosta State College, Georgia, receiving an Art Scholarship and an Excellence in Fine Art award in 1984.
Now based in the UK, he works as a Graphic Artist while dedicating his free time to painting in pencil, watercolor, acrylic, and oil. Influenced by Renaissance art and global politics, his works include The Arab Revolution and The Eagle Has Landed—the latter was shortlisted for the 2013 ArtGemini Prize and exhibited at the Rebecca Hossack Gallery in London. His painting Arab Revolution was shown with The United Society of Artists at Cork Street, London, and five of his works were featured in The Best of Salon Des Refuses 2014. He received the 2014 American Art Awards for Portrait of an Artist (Best Expressionism-Figurative Art) and The Eagle Has Landed (Best Political Commentary Art), both published in Highlight Hollywood. Currently, he is working on The Bleeding Roses, a painting addressing the persecution of Christians in Iraq and Syria.
