Paul Tranter/ Black & White | Shades of Meaning

Paul Tranter is a multi-media artist based in Yorkshire working in sculpture, performance, photography, video, printmaking and artist’s books. His work takes place in the landscape and often he is the only audience for his on-site installations. These works are translated into artist’s books and digitally printed images, crossing the boundary between documentary and primary artwork. He is inspired by the landscape around him, making journeys through Northern England on foot and by bike, searching out the layers of geological and anthropological histories that lie, often hidden, before us.
