Tim Edgar/ Winter Issue

Tim Edgar is an Artist and Academic based in Dorset. He is an experienced lecturer, delivering contextual studies and studio based sessions in Photography, Fine Art and Film. He has worked at all levels in a variety of institutions, most recently as Head of School for Preparation for Higher Education at Arts University Bournemouth. He is an Assessor and Moderator for the University of the Arts London Awarding Body (UALAB). With his Photography he explores Landscape and Natural History, often the everyday and the "unspectacular". Subject matter includes habitat, walks, nests, insects and birds. His project "Rookery" was self-published in 2003, and "Insect Theatre" was published by Black Dog Publishing in 2013. In 2017 his series "Mark of a Dog" was published by Penguin and Hoxton Mini Press in "Really Good Dog Photography". His Drawing practice stands at the overlap between Art, Maths and Science. Using a variety of analogue media his intense, detailed works explore connections between micro and macro worlds, in particular the cellular and the cosmic. His work was recently published in the first edition of Seisma magazine, devoted to Art and Neuroscience and Horizon Issue #4 and has been included in Evolver magazine's prize exhibition for the last 2 years. Alongside other curatorial projects he is leading the establishment of a new exhibition space to show contemporary Fine Art at the Mowlem Theatre, Swanage which will launch in early September 2022.
