Trish O'Shea/ Sculpture & more...

O’Shea’s work explores a personal narrative, influenced by current issues such as the environment and political upheaval. O’Shea uses personal objects and scraps kept and handed down through the years along with collected materials. Re-using and re-purposing is a central aspect to her work as O'Shea combines family objects with found and collected detritus. Her Grandmothers' thimble with a found bone, layers of her Mother's ribbon and threads with nails and dust. Her figures and birds sit atop or within her structures and shelters as witnesses, guardians and foretellers.
