Una Lo is a jeweller, skull lover, and sustainable fashion designer based in the UK. Originally from Hong Kong, Una’s passion for metalwork and design was sparked during a year-long journey across Europe, where she drew inspiration from the continent's rich cultural diversity and history. This transformative experience led her to pursue jewellery and metalwork at Sheffield Hallam University, where she graduated with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and storytelling, Her project, The Episode, earned her the BA(Hons) Best Design Award (2018).
Una continued her studies with an MA in Jewellery and Metalwork, where her final project, Immortality Within Mortality, was awarded the Sheffield Assay Masters Recognition Award – Highly Commended (2024). One of the key pieces from this collection, The Dance of Death, was selected to become part of the Assay Master Collection. Known for her fascination with skulls, Una reinterprets these age-old symbols of mortality in a way that challenges conventional associations with death and danger. Her work blends intricate craftsmanship with profound meaning, often exploring themes of life’s fragility, remembrance, and the enduring nature of memory. Her jewellery serves not only as personal adornment but as vessels of reflection—offering solace in times of mourning and encouraging contemplation on life and death.
