Wendy Greaves is a textile artist and ex teacher, originally based in Rutland but now living in North Devon. She explores using a range of textile processes, including embroidery (both hand and machine), resist, print, fabric manipulation and paint. She's never without her camera or a sketchbook, collecting inspiration on new and exciting journey.
Wendy was born in Liverpool and gained a BA(Hons) Structural Textiles and a PGCE in Art & Design from Leicester DeMontfort University. She taught Textiles, Costume and Fine Art at Oakham School in Rutland from 1991, but in 2022 Wendy decided that it would be her last year of teaching as she desired to focus on and to produce more of her own artwork and moved to North Devon to be closer to her main inspiration, the Atlantic Ocean and opened her studio.
