Huiyuan Zhang is a ceramic artist whose practice is rooted in Buddhist philosophy and the transformative nature of fire. He grew up in a Buddhist family and integrated ritual aesthetics with contemporary ceramic expressions. His works, using natural grey glaze and various firing methods, reflect the themes of impermanence, mindfulness, and material transformation. Zhang's works create Spaces for contemplation, encouraging people to reflect on the relationship between nature, matter, and their inner selves.
