Matthew F W Dennis is an internationally exhibited artist & photographer based in the South West of England. Since graduating from The Nottingham School of art in 2019, his work has been shown at various galleries and festivals including The Holburne Museum, Bath, OFF Photo Festival, Bratislava & The Royal West of England Academy, Bristol. His series ‘Landscapes of our Being’ was shown at his first solo show at Sìtheag, Oban in 2024 and went on to The Holburne Museum for their Pride month celebrations, where he was interviewed and took part in panel discussions about his experience as an emerging queer artist. Although his formal education was photographic, his work is now pushing out of the constraints of the frame into more experimental and sculptural techniques. His work explores ancient ritual, death & human connection to land(scape). From the starting point of cairn circles on Dartmoor (South West England), where he grew up, he reaches further to other ancient landscapes, feeling for connections to the pulse of beings long past, as well as human reflections within the sculptural features of these mystic barren lands.
